Came in on a thursday morning and got lucky with parking as well as being there at a non-peak time. Lots of seating and space inside but kinda cramped up together. There are also a lot of freshly baked goods and sweets to choose from. I love that they have a menu list for sandwiches and soups which made ordering easy. I had their ham and cheese panini and it was so delicious despite being so simple. Their soup of the day is not to be overlooked! During our visit they had chickpea and veggie which was so hearty and satisfying! Thats what fresh homemade food tastes like! Staff was very patient as well with my questions as i was not familiar with their items aside from the egg tarts. I really wish they put names up or descriptions on their items for sale though. Anyway, we also got their Galao (Portuguese coffee-espresso and milk) which was satisfying and loved their Molete aka Portuguese bread. I hope to be back soon to try other things and hopefully be more familiar with the rest of the baked goods!

Someone recommended their pastel de nata and it did not disappoint. Very cute, best one we’ve had in the states. The custard is very delicate and soft and not too sweet, the crust is very flakey. Will be back to try other pastries and things :)

This bakery is my daily go-to spot for breakfast. It’s a treasure trove of everything you could ever need, from cakes to drinks and salads. I absolutely adore the ambiance and the organized staff. The only minor concern I had was the freshness of the food. This could be cultural, as in my home country, we expect everything to be freshly baked and served immediately. Apart from that, everything else is nearly perfect.

excellent all around. This is a local spot that cannot go wrong. The food and drinks are delicious and made in-house & affordable. I tried their chicken empanadas and fries. They’re both really great ! If there was one comment - I would ask that they have more hot sauces to dip foods. I’m definitely coming back to try their bakery items.

I have been going to Teixeira’s for decades with my family and it never disappoints. genuinely one of the best (if not the best) bakeries in the area. since they’ve expanded there is always seating, even during the busier times. i love everything here, from the soups to the pastries, the coffee, even the toast is excellent. i strongly recommend to anyone who is curious and hungry

Popular Portuguese Bakery in the neighbourhood. Tried the local favourites and love the crunch. Though it would have been better if the pastry was warmer (personal preference)

If you're looking for authentic Portuguese egg tarts, this is the real deal. The crust is perfectly flaky with a buttery crunch, and the custard filling is rich and just the right amount of sweet. They come out warm and fresh and even after it being in the to-go box for a bit, they're still crispy and steaming with flavor. Definitely worth the trip. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere is nice. They also have other treats but I haven't had the chance to try them yet.

A Hidden Gem on Ferry Street Every time I’m in Newark, I make sure to stop by Teixeira Bakery. Everything in this Portuguese gem is fresh and perfectly prepared. While their egg tarts are the star of the show, I’m always impressed that almost everything—from the éclairs to the cakes—is only $2.99. It is so refreshing to enjoy a quality pastry without paying the $10+ prices you find elsewhere. Located right in the heart of Ferry Street, they are large enough to handle crowds and deliver quick service. Highly recommended for anyone who wants authentic taste without the "astronomical" price tag. If you love authentic Portuguese baked goods—or just appreciate great value—Teixeira Bakery is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I got a chocolate croissant, egg tart, cream puffs cheese bread, along with the cinnamon caramel iced coffee, and both were absolutely amazing especially the iced coffee, the flavor was perfect. The food was also really good, fresh, and satisfying. The atmosphere was also welcoming and everything tasted made with care. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!
